Minding Making in the Museum: Dr. Ethan Lasser Discusses Silver

Focusing on a few objects from the Harvard Art Museums' Collection, Dr. Ethan Lasser discusses how the Minding Making Project suggests radical, new approaches to museum objects and display. In the accompanying videos, he explores how Minding Making directs attention towards less traditional avenues, encourages thinking across media lines, and facilitates considering museum objects as moments in larger material and process flows.
Dr. Lasser challenges our comfortable position with such table objects, guiding us into the less familiar territory of the sweltering silversmith's studio, the foreign silver mine, and liquid financial systems.
